Born and raised in Tremonton, I am the youngest son of David and Leda Smith. From a young age, I learned what it means to build something from the ground up by watching my mother start and grow Cover Up Embroidery in Tremonton and expand to Brigham City as well.
After graduating, I worked at Nucor and later started my own metal fabrication shop. That experience opened the door to building and operating multiple businesses, from IT support to real estate and more. Through those experiences, I’ve learned what it takes to create jobs, meet payroll, and make decisions that have lasting impacts on families and communities.
My passion for public service grew while serving on Box Elder County's Planning & Zoning. In that role, I’ve worked on issues that directly affect our communities and our future. I care deeply about land use, individualproperty rights, and responsible growth that protects the rural values that make Box Elder County such a great place to live.
When I first saw my wife, Randi, in the halls at Bear River High School, I knew she was the one. It took me a couple of years to convince her, but I eventually succeeded. This year, we celebrate 16 years of marriage, and together we are raising our four children. Our family is deeply involved in 4-H, and we spend much of our time traveling across the western United States showing pigs and lambs, though pigs are still my favorite. I also help Randi organize the Golden Spike Clash livestock show at the fairgrounds each June.
I would be honored to earn your vote for Box Elder County Commissioner.
